This monograph is borne out of the need to equip the students who often requested for reference materials to guide their readings on health economics. Although copious materials exist in a wide range of the subject, this monograph has not pretended in any way to render a comprehensive coverage of the field, rather the materials are presented in the form of lecture notes. The monograph will expose the students to how best scarce resources can be allocated in health care and also distributed in the most equitable and efficient ways to the benefit of all I am especially grateful to my year five Nursing Science students of the University of Calabar who motivated me in the preparation of the monograph. I am also most grateful to all the authors used in this monograph. Finally, I thank the Almighty God to whom all glory should go to.
